Although a logistical challenge for the independent and solo traveller, the rewards you yield from moving across the natural wonderland are truly worthwhile. Zambia is where I encountered some of the kindest souls I've come to know in Southern Africa, visited a park teeming with wildlife (even though it was low season) and became immersed in local life thanks - in part - to a lack of tourism and infrastructure. The low levels of tourists resulted in a very satisfying experience. I hope this brief overview of Zambia is enough to get you thinking about planning a visit, one that I hope you'll enjoy as much as did I.
