I’ve seen but a fragment of the multi-faceted tapestry that comprises the United States of America, the holy grail of travel destinations for much of the globe’s population. A lifetime would be required to see and experience every corner and fissure of ‘American life’ so, over the years, I’ve opted for the highlights. The birthplace of bright lights and big cities, it’s unsurprising that visits have revolved around unearthing various metropoles, each brimming with culture, entertainment and diverse cuisine. From the French Quarter of jazz-imbued New Orleans to San Francisco’s majestic panoramas, it’s hard to go past them. There is also outstanding nature which I’m yet to explore.
