Ever heard of Ikea? Sweden is design prowess at its greatest. Architectural ingenuity can be seen in the built environment throughout the Nordic nation but it's never gaudy: there's a sense of moderation and function by which it's underpinned.
Good taste is also seen in fashion choices - people here look good and dress for the occasion every day. But there's more to Sweden than design: it's a mecca for nature enthusiasts. You can sail around islands, trek through wilderness and camp under the starry sky (and hope to see the Northern Lights) to get a sense of solitude.
Don't forget about the Sami, though, the Indigenous population who reside mostly in the northern-most reaches of the country: visiting a Sami village or home will be a very unique Swedish experience.
Hopefully this brief overview of Sweden gets you thinking about a visit. But choose your season carefully as the Swedish experience is completely unique at different times of year.
