Slovenia is a natural wonderland, wild and so insanely beautiful it'll be hard to leave once you start exploration. For me, it was the Venetian-inspired coastline that enticed. For others, it's the silky smooth lakes, snow-capped peaks and turquoise rivers that hold them captive. The beauty tap was turned to the max during the country's creation and I personally experienced why it's a key drawcard: it's magnetising and, simply put, jaw-dropping. Understandably, many pursuits are thus undertaken in Mother Nature, outdoors, surrounded by said beauty. But there's not only nature that'll entice: there's a host of cultural intrigue and architectural splendour to whet curious travel appetites, too. Of the towns and cities I explored, Bled came out on top, a city surrounded eternally by giants and, at the centrepiece, a tiny island home to a baroque chapel. Magnificent! I hope this brief overview of Slovenia gets you thinking about planning a visit - you won't regret it.
