Situated in the middle of the Balkans, Serbia is a surprising travel destination. It's fun, entertaining, historic and definitely off the well-beaten tourist trail of its Western European counterparts. Wandering around the country can be likened to stepping back in time, traditions still alive from a bygone era - a living relic, of sorts. There's also nature galore including skiing, hiking and rafting opportunities. You can get your music vibes on at the annual EXIT Festival held in Novi Sad. Don't be put off by the feisty nature of Serbs: they're hospitable and warm at the core. Albeit brief, this summary of Serbia and the experiences I relay will hopefully encourage you to consider visiting the country that was formerly part of Yugoslavia.
