Although my visit was restricted to Bratislava, a capital with plenty of bang for your traveller buck, my eyes continually sought out the castles and mountains that lingered on the horizon. Slovakia, a landlocked nation in the heart of Europe, is perhaps most famous for its enticing nature-scapes and hiking opportunities. There are wineries, too, set to titillate your tastebuds and fuel your drinking spirit to be akin to locals when returning to city limits. Thanks to its miniature dimensions, getting to the farthest reaches of the country doesn't take long - a long weekend perhaps enough to get a taste of Slovakia. I can't wait to return to explore the outdoors and add a little to this brief overview of Slovakia.
