But the tiny nation is more than a mere stopover: it's home to sensational food, bustling cities and beautiful nature. It's also a melting pot of Asian cultures, hence the catchphrase 'Malaysia truly Asia'. There are multiple opportunities for exploration across the various islands so try not to limit your time to Kuala Lumpur (as difficult as it can be to leave).
