The mention of Egypt conjures a unique kind of exoticism: bare pyramids are surrounded by entombed aristocracy of an ancient world, juxtaposed beside Pharaonic masterpieces that were once utilised as temples, inside of which gods were venerated and animals sacrificed.
Add to this the powerful Nile that weaves its way through the land's ancient core, world-class snorkelling and diving opportunities in the Red Sea, vast deserts fit for exploration on camel-back, and kindred souls who are wholly hospitable, then you have the recipe for a dream travel destination.
Sadly, as a result of political instability, safety in the region has become increasingly uncertain in recent years.  Do your research carefully and consult your national ministry that regulates international travel for advice and recommendations.
Travelling in Egypt was one of the most significant highlights of my travel career.  Let this overview of Egypt allure you.

Best time to visit

Egypt has two main seasons:

Summer (June - August): This time is characterised by high temperatures, with average daytime temperatures in the 30s °C (90s °F) and sometimes even higher in the south. Humidity is high in coastal areas.

Winter (November - February): Winter in Egypt is much milder, with cooler temperatures and comfortable weather throughout the country. Average daytime temperatures range from the teens to 20s °C (60s to 70s °F)  in the north and up to the 30s °C (80s °F) in the south.

There are also two transitional seasons:

Spring (March - May): Spring in Egypt is warm with clear skies and moderate temperatures.

Autumn/Fall (September - October): Autumn is also a great time to visit Egypt, with temperatures starting to cool down.

Ultimately, the best time to visit Egypt is during the winter season, from November to February, when the weather is milder and more comfortable for outdoor activities.
